Movie, Website, Video Game Reviews

Can a movie review make your life better?

Absolutely! While most movie reviews tell you about how good a movie is (we do that, too), our family movie reviews do more. Common Sense reviews help you find movies that you will love and that will interest even the pickiest youngest kids, preteens and teens. We'll let you know what's coming soon and the latest on new kids movies. We also offer ways to talk to your kids about the messages in the movies they love. Our users tell us that our movie reviews even settle arguments about what's appropriate! So read, decide, and enjoy. -Common Sense

Thank You

Dear Students,

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for making my first day back to school such a wonderful one. Many of you approached me with kind, welcoming words and hugs and I felt so appreciated. All day was a busy one because of the NECAPS and just adjusting to the school day and all. I had outside duty too. Late in the morning I heard from one of my homeroom students that they had planned to have a party for me! Some of you brought treats to school and were hoping to celebrate. Do you know how warm and fuzzy I feel knowing that? I only wish we could have celebrated during our class but the NECAPS took priority.

Thank you. Bless you for your displays of kindness and affection for me. I am so grateful for each of you in my life.

Yours truly,
Mrs. Leighton

Hello from Washington State

Dear Students,

The time is flying by! No surprise, I am sure, but I enjoyed my niece's wedding and reception...cried some good tears, ate some good food, and danced to some good music. The festivities took place at the home of a close friend of the family and it overlooked the place where 2 rivers meet: The Columbia and The Snake. Gorgeous place and in the middle of a desert. Try Google Earth to see if you can find it.

I hope you're all having no difficulties understanding the language arts assignments. Feel free to comment here if you have any questions. I hear it's been rainy. I bet it will be beautiful to see the foliage from the air but our flight does not come in until very late at night.

I miss you all. Say hi to Mrs. Thomas for me.

Yours truly,
Mrs. Leighton

Friday, October 1, 2010

Dear Students,

Today will be a busy day for all of the family as it's the day before the wedding, we have a rehearsal, and lots of preparations ahead of us, including raising 3 large wedding tents. I am thinking of you today and hoping your day is productive; it's an early release day and it's Friday! Have a wonderful weekend.

Several of you posted yesterday and I loved it. Sophie, I hope the game was awesome. Nice to hear from you! Jenna H., I was thrilled to hear you've decided to write a memoir about spelunking with your grandmother! Rady, you asked about flying and if there were beds on our flight. I wish! No beds. I love flying, peering out the window and thinking about the map and where we are. We flew over Lake Michigan and had perfect visibility but landing in NYC was a trip!!

Happy writing! Thinking of you all.
